SAN ANTONIO -4 (PUNCHOUT) (Game of the Week) (I scooped up this line now b/c I know it won't be available tomorrow afternoon; the AT&T Center will be rocking Thurs. night; big revenge game for the Champs! Spurs by 10 or more in this one!)

JD - I am so with you on this game, I had this pencilled in for a while now too, I am shocked the line is under 6pts... shocked! I figured they made Pistons 6.5pt favs at home to Spurs, it would be bout same here today.
I seen the line 4/4.5 about the place but I actually think this may even go down to 3.5 in some places - its just the betting public is obviously so in love with Pistons right now, thats the only explanation for such a low opening line... Also Arroyo is suspended this game so I know its not a huge deal but I think he is a key reserve for them and if billups finds himself in foul trouble it could be key - plus last meeting no manu - and everyone knows that manu is the reason the spurs have won anything in the past 3 years - no onw in the nba quiet like him.
In any case, am booking it at 4, best its going off at 3.5, which isnt end of the world - but to everyone else, dont be put off by line moving down.
SPURS -4 ***
Vegas, glad I could return the favour in some small measure - thats what we're all here for.
JD - we are going to be winners again tonight. no doubt about it for me.

NBA trends (1/12)
The Detroit Pistons garnered partial payback for last year's NBA Finals loss against San Antonio when they spanked the Spurs at home on Christmas Day, 85-70.
The defending champion Spurs get their chance for revenge Thursday in the opening game of a star-studded TNT doubleheader. Lebron James and Cleveland travel to Staples Center to face Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the second game.
The Pistons dominated the glass in the initial showdown this season, winning the battle of the boards, 57-30. Ben Wallace yanked down 21 caroms, while Antonio McDyess chipped in with 13 rebounds. San Antonio played without Manu Ginobli in that lopsided loss. The multi-talented Spurs standout will be in Thursday's lineup.
Detroit cashed on Christmas as six-point favorites, while the combined 155 points easily slipped below the closing total of 184.
The Pistons have 'covered' four of their last five versus the Spurs, including the last three series encounters. San Antonio nipped Detroit in the last meeting at the SBC Center as nine-point favorites, 80-77.
The Pistons have failed to cash seven of their last 11 games. The Spurs have also been money-burners recently, falling short in 11 of their last 15 spread decisions and in 10 of 15 as home favorites.
Five of the last six series battles have been on the low side. San Antonio and Detroit have both slipped 'under' in seven of 10 trips to the post.
Trends and angles for the other two games on Thursday's menu appear below.
WARRIORS at SUNS
Golden State played host to Miami on Wednesday while Phoenix took a much-needed night off following a triple-overtime loss at Denver, 139-137. The Warriors lost in their first visit to America West Arena this season as seven-point dogs, 101-86. The combined 187 points slipped well below the closing total of 212. Golden State also failed to hold serve at home in the rematch, bowing as 4 1/2-point favorites, 118-110. The Warriors had won four of the five previous series tussles, cashing each time. Nine of the last 14 clashes have been on the high side. Golden State has topped the total in nine of its last 11 on the highway.
CAVALIERS at LAKERS
Cleveland begins a stretch where it plays eight of nine games on the road. The Cavaliers have been respectable on the highway this season, posting a 6-7 mark after winning just 13 times on the road during their last campaign. However, Cleveland is just 1-4 as road dogs. The Lakers had won and cashed four straight versus the Cavaliers until floundering in the final meeting on the road last season as 6 1/2-point dogs, 103-89. Los Angeles has cashed three straight versus Cleveland at Staples Center. The Lakers, who played Wednesday at Portland, are 2-4-1 against the spread when toiling on consecutive nights.

WELL GUYS AS YOU KNOW MY GUT INSTINCT WAS RIGHT LAST NIGHT WITH THE SACRAMENTO GAME AS I CALLED YESTERDAY AGREEING WITH TQUNBER THERE IS JUST NO WAY A TEAM THAT PLAYS DOUBLE OT AND THEN TRAVELS BACK CROSS COUNTRY TO HOME WHO IS 0-12 WITH MCGRADY IS GONNA COVER 3 PTS I SHOULD OF HAMMERED IT, BUT PUBLIC SCARED ME OFF SO IT WAS A NO GO AS THE GOW. HOWEVER, PUBLIC CAME IN MY FAVOR OF FALLING OFF THE AUBURN GAME SO I GUESS I CAN'T COMPLAIN. ANYWAYS, I WILL BE SURE NOT TO MISS OUT ON THE CASHCOW TONIGHT. TONIGHT AS PROMISED WE WILL DELIVER A GOW WITH THE DEFENDING CHAMPS SPURS-4 AT HOME IN REVENGE FROM CHRISTMAS DAY LOSS. FIRST OFF SPURS DID NOT HAVE MANU GINOBLI IN FIRST MATCHUP WHICH WAS A KEY FIGURE AND SECONDLY THEY WILL BE HOME WHICH MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE SO NOW DETROIT TRAVELS DOWN TO SAN ANTONIO AND TO TOP IT OFF GREG POPOVICH LIGHTS A FIRE UNDER HIS TEAMS ASS BY CALLING THEM OUT AFTER THEIR WIN VS THE NETS WHICH HE WAS NOT TOO IMPRESSED BY AND TO FINISH IT OFF WITH WE GOT JDELT, TQUNBER AND MRLASVEGAS ON IT SPELLS TROUBLE FOR THE BOOKIES. GOODLUCK GUYS AND KICK THE BOOKIES IN THE BALLS!!!!

Youngstown State -3.5 vs Wright State ...7:30 PM EST
Tonight's Free play takes us to the beautiful, scenic city of Youngstown, Ohio. The Raiders of Wright State visit the Penquins of Youngstown State.
Wright State is 7-6 so far on the year, while Youngstown State is 5-9.
Let's look at Wright State on the road this year. One week ago they went to Cleveland State and were beaten by 3 points. Note...Cleveland State is one of the worst teams in Division 1. Thirteen days ago, they traveled to Akron, and got their butts handed to them by the score of 72-44. Before that ...played at N. Illinois ...lost by 20 points. Played at Miami, Ohio ....and lost by 8 points, and played at Toledo ...lost by 9 points.
Now...let's look at the Penquins on their home court. They hosted Wisconsin Green Bay a week ago, and put a 25-point whoopin on the Phoenix by the score of 95-70. Before that, they beat James Madison by 7, and soundly beat the Dukes of Duquesne by 21 points. They even went in to Akron earlier in the year, and played them very close, before finally losing by 5. Remember what Akron did to Wright State !
At home the Penquins average 80.6 pts per game, while the Raiders average a very poor 53.8 pts per game on the road. The Penquins give up a very stingy 63.2 pts per game on their home court.
The Penquins are a very impressive 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games!
I see a very tight game early on, with Youngstown State finally pulling away in the 2nd half and winning by about a dozen.... Lay the 3.5 !
Good luck, and have a great day!

What about the NY Rangers tonight???? It's Mark Messier night, ceremony, number being raised, think they'll lose at home to the Oilers on a night they celebrate the greatest player to ever wear a Rangers sweater?? -130 at home is a gift on most nights with the Rangers this year. On a special night like this, it's a gift-wrapped playmate.
Thought this fits into your special occasion play spectrum.

Just a word of caution regarding the Flyers. They are 0-14-2 at Detroit since 1989, and they played last night.

VEGAS MY MAN! CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE NOT ON THE PANTHERS +3. DO YOU NOT THINK THEY CAN PLAY IN THE COLD? I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHO'S QBING FOR CHICAGO THEY MAY NOT SCORE. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE A FG! YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE MOST EXPERIENCED TEAM IN THIS GAME AND THAT WOULD BE CAROLINA. THEY ARE PLAYING WITH LOTS OF MOTIVATION SINCE SAM MILLS PAST ON. THEY WANT TO WIN THIS YEAR FOR HIM. I THINK THAT'S HIS NAME? ANYWAY, ANY INSIGHT IS WELCOME.

They lost, and I was on the other side, remember listening to the ceremony on XM before the game. At the time, Sabres were playing terrible hockey.
But if you think that even remotely compares to what's gonna happen at MSG tonight, you're mistaken. The emotion is gonna be like nothing Rangers fans and players have ever seen before. This is the man that promised to bring a cup to a team that hadn't won in 54 years and delivered. He is the most loved Ranger of all time. The players are gonna skate their hearts out for 60 full minutes tonight, and if they were playing one of the elite teams in the league, i would be hesitant. Oilers are an average team at best, they don't stand a chance tonight.

OK FELLAS A SPECIAL TREAT TONIGHT FOR ALL AS I BELIEVE JTMONEY IS COMING OUT OF RETIREMENT FOR THIS PLAY. I LOVE THIS PLAY LIKE A GOW TYPE OF PLAY. I LOVE IT ENOUGHT TO PUT 10-20 UNITS ON IT AS WELL.
TAKE UL LAFAYETTE -5 OVER SOUTH ALABAMA. LINE WILL PROBABLY GO DOWN SINCE PUBLIC IS ON SOUTH ALABAMA. HMMMM, YOU MAY ASK BUT WHY THIS GAME JTMONEY. SOUTH ALABAMA IS 10-3 AND UL LAFAYETTE IS 4-9. WELL MY FRIENDS ITS VERY SIMPLE.
THIS IS FOR MY BUDDY MR. LASVEGAS. BOTH HIM AND I ARE SUPERSTITIOUS WHEN IT COMES TO NEW COACHES OR SOMEONE DYING AND PLAYING FOR THAT PERSON. EARLIER THIS YEAR I POUNDED THE GIANTS AFTER WELLINGTON PASSED AS HE HAD A MEETING WITH SOME OF THE PLAYERS THE NIGHT BEFORE HE PASSED. THEY WENT ON TO KICK THE SHIT OUT OF THE REDSKINS I BELIEVE 36-0 OR WHATEVER IT WAS.
NOW UL LAFAYETTE FELLAS IS PLAYING AT THEIR ACTUAL HOME STADIUM TONIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HURRICANE KATRINA. UL LAFAYETES RECORD IS 24-2 OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS AT WHAT IS KNOWN AS THE CAJUNDOME.
THIS PLACE IS GONNA BE ROCKING TONIGHT AND I'M GONNA ROLL WITH THIS ONE GOW STYLE AND COME OUT OF RETIREMENT FOR THE DAY.
UL LAFAYETTE -5 TO DA BANK FELLAS $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

0-1 yesterday.. Well you know I have been saying Pitt would shock some this year and they have! But this team is young and lack the killer instinct the books have caught up no more soft lines! Depaul +13 much like N.D. game Pitt wins but no cover! Enjoy freshman Sam Young & Fields ( quick quick PG) and Mr Biggs all freshman! Depaul +13!

What's up fellas$$$ I haven't posted here in a long, long time but I'm always checking in on the plays of all the great cappers here on the board. But tonight there is one game I just have to post.
Red Wings (-170)
Now as some of you know I am a Philly guy and the Flyers are my favorite team, but in this case they are in big trouble. First of all they are playing the final game of a francise record 11-game, three week road trip in which they are 8-1-1. They are also playing their 3 game in 4 nights. Also, Nittymaki has played all 10 games of the trip and is in net again tonight. If anyone watched them last night and Monday against the Devils they look dead. Last night they were completely outplayed for 2.5 periods and then their superior talent kicked in and they beat the lowly Blackhawks. Not tonight. If all that wasn't bad enough did I mention the Flyers haven't won in Hockeytown since 1988! Detroit should be rested and ready. And also, this could be a bit of a look-ahead for the Flyers with Forsberg's old team, the Avs coming to Philly on Saturday. The boys should be dreaming of cheesesteaks and soft pretzels half way through the 2nd period. I am taking this one big on the ML and I would even say the goal line is probably a pretty good bet. Sorry boys, I hate to go against my team but money is money.
Red Wings 4 Flyers 1
Dime! Dime! Dime!
Good luck all!!!
