Picks for Tues Nov 1'st

Sorry, Ricky, I was so stoked about the opening of the NBA Season and my first play on it I had to post the thread to start the new season!

All right fellas, hoops is finally here. I'm gonna post a daily best bet although I won't post every day. When college starts I'll have a daily college OR a daily NBA...anyways..for the year I'm gonna track them separately, but at most, post 1 in NBA and college for the day.

NBA PLAY #1:

I'm rollin on the San Antonio Spurs to cover the 7 1/2 they are laying at home to the Nuggets. San Antonio is licking their chops to start the season. A healthy Duncan, Tony, and Manu spells big time trouble. Let's not forget that the Spurs were the NBA's best defensive team in terms of PPG allowed at home last year. Add Nazr Mohammad a 7 footer with great presence (although a penchangt for fouling out) and I think you see a load of matchup problems for the Nuggets.

Both Nene and K mart will be limping in to this one. Nene got dinged in practice with a classic knee to the quad...K Mart had off season surgery and it's anyone's guess how long the hip will hold out. Throw in the fact that the Spurs were one of the NBA's best last year ATS wise at home. I think your gonna see a blow out. No disrespect Melo, but you and Andre are gonna have your hands full with one of the NBA's best defensive teams.

Some stats from 04:

The Spurs were 31-18 ATS at home last year.

The Nugs were 20-21 ATS on the road last year.

In 3 games last year @ San Antonio..the Spurs went 2-1 ATS and SU winning 99-89, 104-76, and losing 93-87 with Duncan out for that loss.

The Spurs were 32-20 on the under at home last year.

So take all that into play..a limping frontcourt for the Nugs, a stronger frontcourt for the Spurs, and the incredible home defense.

I'm on the SPURS -7 1/2 @ home as my first hoops play of the year.

Good luck fellas.

JTmoney..I'm looking for that early season cash cow (can you say Expos under in 04, the Suns over in 04)..I'm starting to think the Celtics over early this year might be the ticket.

Axd717...bro..shot ya an email. I got a new one..give me a shout when you get a chance.

Peace all..>WELCOME BACK ROUNDBALL!@!!

PC, another disadvantage for the NUGGS is that Karl wont be able to coach this game due to a suspension for illegal contact/recruiting/soliciting.

now, they are asking an assistant to go up against one of the Genius coaches in the league for 4 quartes...

    Screw u mofo's///

Why do you all have to pick the same game???

Top Play but not GOY/GOW/GOM maybe GOD though

Spurs -7** (fyi ladbrokes have -6.5) - just what everyone else in the NBA needed, my boys go out and get depth in every position. What price the backdoor cover? Spurs up 20 and then lose it down the stretch in garbage time??? NO CHANCE MOFO! I love the signing of Van Ex to spot Parker, will mean they will finally have a quality backup point, then you got firepower off the wings and finally a nice trio that can spot the hole thats never been filled since the Admiral left - this team should never ever submit to the usual Spurs BullSh!t we all had to put up with at various stages last year (Houston springs memorably to mind, Detriot is another) I'm thinking spurs will cover a hell of alot more ATS this year and will be an ATS machine this year. Looking at last years ATS stats I was amazed to see that the Spurs were the #2 team ATS Overall & at Home - behind Denver! (didnt think Spurs were top 10 ATS  ) But that translates into 2 strong home teams, and last I checked Spurs are at home - all the same, its not the stats that put me in favour of this game, its the Spurs, its opening night, they getting their rings, Karl is suspended, Spurs have that backup 5 that could easily go 40 wins on their own... Look for the Spurs to break the 61 win season they had couple years back too - so anyone looking to have a longterm bet go ahead and put it down, its like money in the bank only the interest is ever so slightly better! And its not going to be a case of too much talent, or Fakers04, this is Pop's team, and he makes things run smooth.

JD dont let me down brother - go on & pick Denver - wouldnt be the same if you didnt! But whatever you do just dont come on and pick Spurs, might have to change my pick then!

Interested to see what anyone says bout Mil-sixers? Like look of Milwaukee but AI normally drops a bomb on their ass every game they play. Was it you PC that put that stat out there last season and he went off for like 60pts last christmas? not touching it me thinks...

Also, anyone watching or playing the Hornets game tonight look out for Arviydas Macijauskas - this guy is going to be good - very good.

Thank God for NBA 7 days a week - just when I was about to cut back!

And to the guinea-pig, quite down little girl. Don't even talk til you earn the right biatch.

Resetting the counter Nov-1 0-0-0 Hope to hit some nice months like last year, had couple nice 90% runs over a period of some 8-9 days, and dont remember having too many months below 50% in NBA anyways. Besides, its all good fun, and trying to keep it real this year, as have responsibilities!

(doing OK on NFL hit most of my plays only for Jax to let me down - I was tossing between them & miami too - damn - also handed some back last night on Pitt - again, thought pts total was too low but then just couldnt pull trigger)

pc, you might be onto something bro with celts.

As for today i like dallas to beat suns -1 tonight. I probably won't bet it just to see how i start the season but i think they win here.

don't forget tomorrow clev -12 is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. new orleans is playing tonight and my thought is they'll play hard in season opener. game will probably be close throughout with sac pulling away at the end. Then new orleans will travel to clev. where lebron and the boys will put a can of whoop ass on them.

gl fellas with your plays (i like that spurs play after the writeups. gl again)

DALLAS -1 (the Mavs return most of the same key players from last year along with some key additions; they lost a good shooter in Finley, but they gained a defensive player in Christie; the Suns will definitely feel the effects of losing Stoudemire in the early part of the season)

And, yes, TQ, I considered a play on Denver plus the points as well as Milwaukee plus the points. You'll never catch me on the defending champs in Game 1 of the new season if they are laying points.

Deep breath fellas !! Let's do this !! Let's transfer the bashing to the other board. Once were there ITS ONNNNNNN, lol.

First, good job by all of the Ravens backers last night ! Pitt defintely was not the play but how could you put anything on a Balt offense that has no output ? Congrats again !! Tease came in by the slimest of margins, but we lose more that way than we win.

I just booked 1 play for tonight. A lot going on in the NHL tonight but havent had a chance to even peep at the Ice so I will stay away for tonight.

I did look at a few NBA games and there is one that looks interesting. The board appears to be on top of their game and I think we will produce a lot of winners right here right now !!

I will be putting a couple bills on

    New Orleans + 8

Good Luck if you play it. Preparing for a vacation and really dont have time for a big write-up on this game but myself and a few others liked this play so let's see what it does for us, eh $$$

Good Luck and Wager Wisely !!

you guys are funny. i love the shit talking sometimes about people and picks. At least some people post their picks and if they hit they hit and if not oh well. If any single one of us were guru fucking cappers, we probably wouldn't be here (allthough i must say, i had a great october lol). Keep the posts coming fellas because i for one appreciate people's insights. I don't necessarily agree with all of them or ride them but i read and then make my own judgements.

now dont forget to take clev. tomorrow -12.

    NHL Total of the Day

    9-3 YTD

Play on Under 6.5 -115 in Wings / Blackhawks

Play on Under 6.5 -105 in TB / ATL

Play on Under 6 -120 in Ducks / Preds

Try to stay with 1 but all 3 came back with extremely high strength, I usually prefer Overs, but seems like an Under night. GL.
