DETROIT -3.5 (I'll stick with the Pistons here again, but no play on the game; they were huge enough for me the other night)
Good Luck to all!
Takis, Hopefully you nailed the Pistons as well the other night! GL tonight!

Good Morning guys, here is a write up from a friend of mine for game 4 Spurs vs Pistons$$$$
Nba Championship Game #4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAN ANTONIO @ DETROIT
Well we have seen a totally non-competitive 1st 3 games. is this setting up as a home team running the table series, or are some changes on the horizon. DETROIT was left for dead, and abandoned by the majority of gamblers, but the DNA left behind by past identical circumstances, dictated a DETROIT win in game 3, and they managed not to disappoint the faithful believers. So now what? Do we have any DNA left behind, that may foreshadow the event to come? Here is some information, and then you can decide:
When an 0-2 team comes home and wins game 3, they are 4-8 SU in game 4.
8 of the 12 have been lower scoring than game 3, by an average margin of 6.67ppg
Like Comparisons:
San Antonio won games 1&2 by an average margin of 18ppg
The other 12 teams in this situation won them by 12.96ppg
The home team (Detroit in this case) won game 3 by an average margin of 10.42ppg, the bad news for Detroit backers is these 12 teams that averaged winning by double digits in game 3, have a combined negative margin in game 4!!!
As non-competitive as all these double digit margins have been past and present, game 4's have been the most competitive, 7 of the 12 decided by 1 possession!!! (3 points or less). My thoughts on that are, in examining the games, a quick note that these games have had a tendency to be lower scoring (6.67ppg less vs game 3). Being a very pivitol game now for both teams, the defensive intensity takes on more value. When NBA teams decide to both play defense for 48 minutes, the games are usually much more competitive, regardless of the talent disparagement. That certainly has been the way in the 50+ year history of Championship Series, magnified in this situation.
Another caution for Detroit backers, is this. Teams that have had a winning margin of 16 or more in the first two games (San Antonio), and then lost game 3, have all come back to win game 4!!! Now granted, the amount of games is very limited (5-0), but if you take the 4 wins in 12 tries, 2 of them would not cover the early 3.5 that Detroit bettors must lay. That means in an identical situation, in all of NBA history, game 4's of teams that have played out accordingly, losing the 1st 2 on the road, coming home to win game 3, are just 2-10 trying to cover a 3.5 in game 4.
NOTE:
Yes, I am aware that past performances are not indicitive of future results, but I must add, I have been handicapping for 30 years, and what I have found is the NBA playoffs, do in fact leave behind a tracable DNA that does in fact have prediction and handicapping value, and have had a significant amount of success implementing it. Would I cap the regular season this way? Absolutely not! Nor would I cap any other sport this way.
MY GOY Spurs ML +150

Playing Spurs +4 too.... but only playing it for 1* value - for now (so far this series has played out exactly as I figured it.... see Detroit winning game 5 then Spurs winning at home in front of their own crowd)
On another note, if anyone interested, skinny tennis bet Sjeng Schalken -150 today against David Sanguinetti... typical grass courter vs poor clay courter, also Schalken playing in front of home crowd at his own home event... skinny odds but generous if you know tennis... this should be -250 at least...

GOLF PICK: Phil Mick vs V.J. first round even money LOVE Phil here as his short game better suited for this course! Rooting for Rocco Mediate (early lead) as he is from my home course ( when growing up) and a friend of mine is caddying for him this year! Played with his dad last week and he said Rocco health is the best it has been in years! GO ROCCO!

CHARLOTTE -3 (SPECIAL PLAY)
Yesterday: 1-1
Win:
MINNESOTA +2.5
Loss:
DETROIT +2.5
(One OT win and One OT loss; at least I didn't lose both OT games with the dogs; that would have made me angry, considering both dogs had the lead late in their games)
Season Record: 20-14 (58.82%)
4-1 (SPECIAL PLAYS)
Takis, Good info. my friend! That's the kind of stuff that makes you some real money in the playoffs b/c it holds true to form most of the time as the numbers show!

ok fellas been out for a little laying low but i have a treat for everyone here. It seems that a lot of us are all thinking alike here. Here's my play and take of the day.
Detroit got their one game in this series and I expect the Spurs to close this series out in five. The simple fact remains is that San Antonio is the best team in the NBA. They dominated the first two games and played very bad in Game 3, yet trailed by just five points heading into the 4th quarter. The second best player on the court, Manu Ginobili, also injured his leg less than 30 seconds into the game and Duncan did not play well. Ben Wallace also had a very rare offensive outburst, scoring double digit points for the first time since early in the Heat series. And yet … again the Spurs found themselves within shooting distance in the 4th quarter. All the stars simply lined up for Detroit in Game 3 and its not going to happen again this evening. No way are the Spurs going to allow the Pistons to score 96 points again either. SA simply did not bring their A Game but you can bet they will tonight in the pivotal contest of the series. SA has the better team, the deeper bench, the two best players on the court and they showed it in the first two games. This is also a Spurs team that won four straight on the road in the playoffs until Tuesday night. And while Ihave a great deal of respect for the Pistons, San Antonio is the better team and they will find a way to win this crucial game this evening. Simple as that. Play the Spurs. GL fellas, i'm on this one for 5 units +4 and 5 units ml +150.
