I'm a big fan of Chris Carpenter. He was a dominant stud until inury cut short his season last year for the Cards. No one wants this game more than C Squared. In spring break he has looked fantastic. I think the Cards actually upgraded their offense this year..not their pitching..Eckstein will get on more than Edgar did..a healthy Larry in the outfield, Add the monster Pujols, the slugger Edmonds, the On base specialist Rolen and I think this is the lineup to fear in the NL this year. Houston on the other hand has to deal with a lot in the offseason. I'm a big fan of the Astros (although not as big as Bozoclown1..what's up bro glad you and MLB are back!) and think they have lots of changes this year. Jason Lane and Luke Scott in the outfield are NOT an upgrade over Berkman and Hidalgo or throw Biggio if you want. Both young hitters have potential but I've been tracking lane for 3 years now and I actually think Luke has the better chance. Anyways, I digress...Third basemen has been a nightmare with Morgan Ensberg doing nothing since his full time callup. Ausmus is one of the best defensive and gamecalling catchers in MLB, but his bat leaves a lot to be desired. They lost Kent's bat (to the Dodgers) Berkman is sidelined til May (injury), Beltran is a Met, Biggio will be starting at second. Throw in Willy Tavares and Adam Everett and you see my point.
Look at this lineup...
Starting Lineups
No. St. Louis Houston
1 David Eckstein, Adam Everett, SS
2 Larry Walker, Craig Biggio, 2B
3 Albert Pujols, Jeff Bagwell, 1B
4 Scott Rolen, Morgan Ensberg, 3B
5 Jim Edmonds, Luke Scott, LF
6 Mark Grudzielanek, 2B Jason Lane, RF
7 Reggie Sanders, Brad Ausmus, C
8 Yadier Molina, Willy Taveras, CF
9 Chris Carpenter, P Roy Oswalt,
Carpenter can't wait to toe the hill, Cards are bitter to play since a 4-0 Series sweep. Hell, half of that Astros lineup hasn't seen an opening day roster. I'm really big on Scott and Lane..but it's not gonna happen tonight. Roy will have to have to give up less than 3 for the stros to have a chance.
I think this one is easy fellas.
THIS IS NOT THE OFFENSIVE MACHINE OF YEARS PAST!!!!Play on the St. Louis Cardinals ML =110
Good luck whatever your on. Thought I would post my thoughts on this one since I'm so charged up about it. However, you've seen my 1-3 start. Gamble at your own discretion.
NBA PLAY FOR ME TONIGHT:
2 units on the Phoenix suns -14 1/2 @ home against the Lake Show. I bet and follow on Phoenix quite a bit this year. I think the Lakers will show up in Phoenix and not give a damn about the game. Kobe will get 30+ the Suns will have the cover by the end of the 3'rd. Good luck and slam the man.
