Padres (@ Col) - Padres have the edge in everything here except home field (better SP, much better lineup, and hell of a lot better closer)
Blue Jays (@ Tampa Bay) - Halladay vs Brazelton - Brazelton day 1 starter? cmon...
Tigers (Home vs Royals) - Not so confident on this one as the other two. Bonderman is supposed to be the real deal this year, but I wont believe it til he does soemthing. might play the tigers small.

All right, it's on...lost on my Yanks under last night, but as stated, it was small and for some action.
Today's card has sooooo many games I want to bet on. But since it's the first day of the year I'm only playing two for 5 units apiece.
PC7588's MLB 2005 baseball record:

Today's Play:
Pitt/Mil under 7 1/2....Sheets and Perez are two of baseball's young stars on the hill. Both are K machines and keep the ball low. Both boast great HR/per inning ratios. Both teams have no sluggers of merit other than a K machine in Geoff Jenkins. Overbay is solid, but has a career 212 average against my boy Oliver Perez. Let's not forget the weather will be nasty and hopefully the wind blowing in from left in pitcher friendly Pittsburgh park. Perez has had more K's in the last 2 years than any pitcher in MLB except for the Unit. A solid average of over 10 per game last year and a sterling ERA make Oliver a Cy Young candidate in my book this year. If you play fantasy with me you know I'm high on this kid based on my drafting of him so early. I honestly believe Oliver is going to be the NL Cy Young winner or right there this year. Sheets is coming off an All star year and an equally impressive K ratio per 9. With all the new bats on both teams (5 total on opening day rosters), a huge number of hitters who have under a 240% average vs. the opposing pitcher..this game screams under to me. I just can't see either team putting up a huge number in a half inning. Only thing that scares me is a 2-2 or 3-3 game late. Mesa will get it done..but Mike Adams as the closer for the Brew Crew scares me.

Balt/Oak over 9....these two teams usually signal a slugfest in Camden. Sundaybreak can tell you that the O's pop is there again this year with Rafe, Tejada, and Sosa following some talented on base guys at the top of the order. Zito is a quality pitcher, but let's remember last year that he got up like a Royals pitcher for the 1'st half of the year. In addition, both games Zito pitched @ Baltimore went over last year. Rodrigo Lopez is a decent pitcher..but as I said all preseason..watch out for the Young A's bats. Crosby, Kotsay, and Byrnes are all good contact hitters and Chavez will bring the boys in today.
Play on over 9 Balt/ Oak (zito lopez)
