TRENDS FOR FRIDAY 3/4

Cornell had emotional win over Princeton in last game, sweeping Tigers for first timein two decades; they beat Yale in double OT first meeting and are 7-5 in Ivy, 3-1 as road dog. Yale was 0-3 last week, bu they are 4-1 at home in their Ivy League games.

Harvard won five of last seven games (6-1 vs spread), beating Princeton 61-57, as 5-pt dog; they've covered last four tries as road dog and are 7-5 in Ivy, while the Tigers need to sweep last three games to avoid losing season in league play. Tigers are 1-3 as home favorite.

Dartmouth won, covered its last five games and is 7-5 in Ivy; they lost 68-44 at home to Penn in first meeting. Big Green is 3-2 as road dog. Penn has clinched title in Ivy; they're 2-2-1 as home fave, winning by 24,23,8,7 and 14 pts. Green's Ivy losses are by 2,19,5,24,13 pts

Brown lost six of last seven games; they're 0-4 at home in Ivy tilts, scoring just 51.8 ppg. Columbia lost its last eight games and is 3-9 in Ivy, 2-3 as road dog, losing by 30,7,10,2,7 pts. Brown won first meeting 54-52 at Columbia, but they're 1-6 since that game.

Idaho upset Utah State in December, 69-62, as 9.5-pt dog, but now they've lost six in row and nine of last 10 games. Vandals have only one Big West loss by more than 14 pts. Aggies are 4-4 as home fave, with four of their last five home wins by 20+ points.

Sun Belt tournament

Florida International split its last eight games after 0-6 start in league; they won 74-71 at South Alabama on Feb 19, as 7-pt dog. Jaguars are 4-2 in last six games, and are 3-2 as Sun Belt fave, but were just 6-9 overall in league. FIU is 3-4 as Sun Belt road underdog.

Host North Texas lost 73-70 at home to Arkansas St on Jan 22, as 2-pt favorite; they are 1-4 as home fave in Sun Belt games, as home team covered six of their 8 league home games. ASU lost its last four road games (1-3 vs spread); dogs are 5-2 vs spread in their away games in Sun Belt play.

New Mexico State had lost ten games in row before a non-league win Tuesday; they lost at home to Middle Tennessee, 65-50 back on Jan 27, as 2-pt home dog. Blue Raiders won four of last six games, with three of the four wins by 13 or more points.

Colonial tournament

James Madison lost ten of last 11 games; they split pair of home court wins vs William & Mary- last game was 16 days ago, with Tribe winning, 80-54. Both sides are 3-15 in CAA, but W&M split their last four games and was 2-1 as favorite in CAA games.

Delaware beat Towson 65-55 on Feb 12, as 10.5-pt favorite, but that was Hens' last win, as they dropped last five games, while Towson lost last 12 games (they are 4-3 vs spread in last seven). Only two of Towson's 16 CAA losses are by less than 16 points.

Horizon tournament

Wright State, Detroit traded home court wins, with the Titans winning last meeting 71-49, as 6-pt fave on Feb 10. Detroit won its last three games by 15,12,15 points they're 6-4 as Horizon favorite. Wright won three of its last four games; their last five losses were all by 9+ pts.

Loyola won its last four games; they split pair vs UIC this year, with road team winning pair of 6-pt decisions Both sides are 9-8 in Horizon, but Flames lost three of last five games, despite scoring 83 ppg last four games. Loyola won at UIC two weeks ago, 91-85, as 9-point underdog.

MAAC tournament

Siena has six wins all year, but they won two of its last three games, and covered last three tries as road dog- they split pair with Iona, winning 59-56 in Dec, losing 75-72 last week. Gaels have a player suspended in this game (punch) and another one doubtful with bad back.

Marist, Canisius are both 8-10 in MAAC, but Foxes were 7-1 at one point and have covered one of last 5 tries as road dog. Foxes lost twice to Canisius, 85-81 at home six days ago, 71-61 in OT on Feb 7. Griffins covered seven of last nine games, mostly as dog, as the dog covered five of their last six contests.

Manhattan almost got to Sweet 16 last year, now they are playing on first day of this event, vs Loyola club it split pair of games with, losing 77-70 in Baltimore Feb 6, then beating them by 16 ten days later. Jaspers have lost eight of nine league road games. Loyola covered its last six road games.

Ohio Valley tournament

Home side won both Austin Peay-Tennessee Tech tilts with Peay winning in OT Jan 25, 79-77, then losing at Cookesville 74-59 ten days ago. Tenn won last five in row and is 8-4 as OVC favorite, but they were down 10 at half in first round game, before beating E. Illinois.

Eastern Kentucky won last five games and nine of last 11; they beat SE Missouri, 83-72 on Feb 17, snapping SEMU's seven-game win streak. Indians covered nine of last twelve games; they're 10-3 in OVC if they allow less than 80 pts, 0-4 if they allow 80+, a figure EKU hit in just one of last eight games, vs SE Missouri.

Missouri Valley tournament

Indiana State, Bradley split pair of home court wins, as Sycamores won 73-63 on Jan 29, Braves won 76-66 four weeks before that. ISU lost last three games, but was within point of Southern Illinois in last minute of its last game, Monday night. Both are 0-9 on MVC road

Drake just beat Evansville twice in last four weeks, as they won in OT, 76-72 at Evansville Feb 5, then beat them again six days ago at home, 83-81. Aces lost last three games and 11 of last 13, while Drake won its last three games, winning last game at Bradley.

WCC tournament

Pepperdine and LMU split pair of home court wins this year, with Lions winning 63-46 Jan 29, Waves' worst game of year, and Pepperdine winning six days ago on Senior Day, 82-76. LMU covered six of last eight tilts but lost four of last five, by 4,3,8 and 6 points.

San Francisco beat Portland twice this season, 74-70 in OT at home on Jan 22, then 58-56 on road 15 days ago, as 5-pt dog. Pilots lost last four games, last two by 16 pts each. Dons split last four games, were 0-4-1 as a WCC favorite this season.

Southern Conference tournament

Davidson is 17-0 in Southern Conference, but they do not go to NCAA's unless they win next two games; in first game vs NC-Greensboro, Wildcats won 78-69 as 3.5-pt favorite. Spartans won last four games in row, rallying from 8 down at half to beat Ga Southern Thurs.

Appalachian State won eight of last ten games, but is playing for third straight day here, while host Mocs had bye Wednesday. Teams split pair of home court wins, with Chattanooga beating ASU 60-52 as a 14-pt fave here in January, then losing at Boone, 83-61 as 2-point underdog Feb 12. ASU covered 12 of last 15 games.

Game of the Day

Bulls @ Spurs-- Chicago won six of last eight games, with three of last four staying under; they lost at home 91-75 to Spurs on Dec 6. San Antonio won four of its last five games; they're 11-5 vs spread in last 16 games at home. Chicago won three of last four at home.

Elsewhere, Cavaliers lost last four games (1-3 vs points) with three of the four going over total. 76ers lost four of last five games; they're 3-8 vs spread in last eleven tilts. Webber shot 4 for 18 in last game, close loss to Nets, as Iverson tallied 48 in losing cause.

Golden State is 3-2 in last five games, 9-4 vs spread in last 13, 5-1 in last six on road- they lost at home by two vs Wizards on Dec 20, 103-101. Washington got Larry Hughes back in last game, and he scored 31 in leading Wiz to just their second win in last seven games.

Knicks covered five of last six games, going 4-1 in last 5 they split pair of games vs Magic, with road team taking both. Orlando snapped three-game loss streak with win over Kings in last game; they're 4-16 vs spread in last 20 games, with three of last four going over the total.

Celtics won last three games and are 8-4-1 vs spread in last 13 home games; they won first two vs Bobcats this year by 17,5 pts. Three of last four games went over the total. Charlotte is 10-2-1 vs spread in last 13 games that followed a loss- their last four games stayed under total.

Miami won last three games and had good win in Jersey last night; they covered three of last four when they had a game night before. Sacramento lost nine of last 13 games they're 2-3 since Webber trade, losing by 9,7,3 points. Heat beat the Kings 109-107 in Arco in first meeting.

Toronto won three of last four games, covering all four; 11 of their last 17 went over total. Memphis won its last two games, but is 1-5-1 vs spread in last seven, with six of their last eight games staying under total. Grizzlies are 1-4 vs spread in their last five home games.

Jazz returns to New Orleans roots on first three-game W streak since they started season 3-0; they allowed just 84 ppg last three games. Hornets lost four of last five tilts but are 6-3 vs spread in game following their last 9 wins. Three of last four New Orleans games stayed under total

Bucks split last eight road games; they're 3-2 in last five overall, and beat Wolves 91-86 in first meeting 31 days ago at Kohl Center. Minnesota lost three of last four, as eight of their last nine games stayed under total. Wolves scored less than 100 points in their last ten games.

First game as Portland coach for former Kansas player Pritchard who takes over dysfunctional club that lost 7 of its last nine games and is 0-6 vs spread in last six. Pacers covered just five of last 16 when they had a game night before- they beat Blazers 95-87 in Conseco Feb 16.

Lakers lost last four games as they struggle to hold onto last playoff spot in west, with three of those four over the total. Dallas beat LA 118-104 in last meeting; they have been in LA most of week, having lost to Clippers just 2 nights ago, their first road loss in last seven tries.

Seattle won 11 of last 13 games, with five of last six tilts staying under total; they're 9-2 vs spread last 11 games. Sonics covered four of last five at home. Detroit covered five of last six games when they had game night before, but this is their first back-to-back in a month.
